Wouldn’t we all love to walk into an enormous walk-in closet where we have all of our shoes, clothes, bags, ties and other stuff well organised and laid out for us. Well, WAKE UP!!! Time to get out of La La Land and figure out how we can do just that.
We can create our very own organised space (even if it is small), for half the price. We must work with what we have! This helps you in your everyday life, you get ready faster, you know where everything is, it just makes the day run more smoothly. That's an advantage, isn’t it?
Make sure to make the most of the space in your closet and around it. Some of us will have to use some space in our bedroom or bathroom and don't forget the inside of closet doors too!

CLOTHES
Rolling
What you want to do is to make your clothes appear smaller than they are. Have you ever heard of rolling?? Instead of doing the traditional folding, try rolling certain items like T-shirts and jeans.
You can then store these things in separate containers that you can store elsewhere, freeing up some much needed space for clothes that really need to be hung.
DOUBLE HANG
Need more space to hang clothes? Double up your hangers, you get to store more than one item, using only one hanger, this is genius! You've got to get crafty when you want more space!
Use up that vertical space as well, even if you have to bring in some extra organisers.
S-E-P-A-R-A-T-E
Separate those clothes you wear regularly, like work and gym clothes from those you wear on special occasions like weddings and other formal events. Think about it, you may rarely wear them, yet they are taking up much needed space.

SHOES
Most of us store our shoes at the bottom of the closet but sometimes, that space is just not enough. AGAIN! You should divide your shoes into those you wear often and those you don’t. If you happen to live in an area where there are different seasons, then you want to store your shoes based on those seasons.
For those regularly worn shoes, make them more accessible and easy to reach. If you have a little extra space in your closet, build a vertical shoe rack. It does not have to be too wide, you want to use as little space as possible, the length will allow you to store several pairs there.
Find ways to hang shoes up! You can use pegs, wooden rails or even molding strips. The objective is to use vertical space. You can create your own shoe hangers by using wire hangers too and hanging shoe organisers to place behind doors if you have limited space.
For shoes that you don’t wear regularly, you know what to do. Store and hide those babies away!

JEWELLERY
Jewellery may be small but over time these small things add up. Very soon, you find yourself with earrings, chains, rings, bracelets and watches that if not organised properly, they become one tangled mess.
You can either hang all of your jewellery, have it on display or keep it all in a drawer. What is most important is organising it!
There are many jewellery organisers or you can make some jewellery organisers yourself!
Look around the house for things that have separate compartments. Like egg crates, old and unused tea-cups, even a piece of cardboard can be used wisely to store your earrings. Click here for more neat ideas on how to store jewellery.

BAGS
Most bags can be hung, which means hooks and coat racks are an easy solution for most bags. Again you can use up some space in or outside of the cupboard or behind a door. If you happen to have clutches and purses, you can use magazine holders and different containers for them.
Separate shelves for your bags can work too. Baskets, boxes, cubbies and containers are also a good idea. Most of us tend to use certain bags regularly and change them up occasionally, so do what’s best for you.

TIES & BELTS
A single hanger can store up to about 20 ties, so this is an easy inexpensive way to store away your them. If you prefer to roll them up, then you can dedicate a drawer for your ties and use tie separators or make your own from the cardboard found in boxes used to separate wine.
Belts take up very little space as well, so hangers, coat racks, even shower curtain rings can be used to store those belts away.
The trick is to proritise, declutter and find new creative ways to store your things that makes life a little easier for you. You can do it!!
